Yes, you read the title right. And no, this isn’t clickbait. Dr. Stone is actually returning this week with a new one-shot chapter titled “Terraforming!”

It’s only been about three months since Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi’s Dr. Stone came to an end with the series 232nd chapter. However, as was announced back in May the story isn’t over just yet! At the time it wasn’t confirmed how the series would return, only that it wouldn’t be returning to serialization. Many fans at the time theorized that it could be a one-shot chapter and it seems that they were correct!

Releasing this week on Monday, the special one-shot follows Senku and his team out on a scientific expedition to find materials to build their latest planned invention, the time machine! The chapter is currently rumoured to be 51 pages long, but keep in mind that this is not confirmed.
The one-shot is being released now to line up with the Dr. Stone anime special, Ryusui which is releasing later this month. The episode will introduce fans of the anime to the newest addition to Senku’s Kingdon of Science, Ryusui Nanami! Fans of the manga know him as the determined and energetic sailor of the kingdom and now fans of the anime will get to enjoy him as well!
Once again the chapter is set to release officially on July 4th, 2022 so go ahead and mark that date down. Dr. Stone will be returning for the 3rd season in 2023 as announced by the production committee. The anime series is based on the manga of the same name, written Riichiro Inagaki and drawn by Boichi. The manga series was published in Weekly Shonen Jump between 2017 and 2022. TMS Entertainment picked up the manga for an anime adaptation.
