Both Fire Force and Soul Eater mangas are written by the same author, Atsuhi Ohkubo. Manga fans have speculated for a long time that both manga series are connected, and after the release of the final chapter of Fire Force, the series has been confirmed to be a prequel to Soul Eater.
In the last chapter of the Fire Force manga, we saw the appearance of Excalibur, who is a well known character from the Soul Eater universe, and Excalibur is 800 years old in the Soul Eater manga. We also saw glimpses of the first witch in the bonus panels. Soul Eater series main character, Maka also makes an appearance in the final chapter of Fire Force. It was confirmed that Fire Force is a prequel story to the Soul Eater, which takes place in the same world a long time ago. Also the existence of the weird moon and sun gave fans a major hint in the first chapters as well.
Atsushi Ohkubo started Soul Eater manga series in Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan Magazine in 2004, and ended the serialization in August 2013 after releasing 113 chapters. Studio Bones picked up the manga for an anime adaptation of 51 episodes. The series is available officially on Funimation to stream.
