Funimation Is Merging With Crunchyroll To Make Largest Anime Library

Sonny’s Funimation Group previously bought Crunchyroll for US 1.175 billion dollars, So, it was only a matter of time before both streaming services are merged to make one big anime library.

On Tuesday, Crunchyroll announced that Funimation will be merged into Crunchyroll streaming service, meaning all the Funimation content will be available on Crunchyroll from today onwards.

What Will Happen To Funimation Account?

Many Funimation users are wondering that what will happen to their Funimation account after this merge. Moving forward, Funimation will only add new episodes of the ongoing anime series. In order to enjoy, upcoming anime series, fans will have to buy Crunchyroll subscription. As a welcome gift, Funimation subscribers will get 60 days of Crunchyroll premium for free.

Is Crunchyroll Subscription Price Increasing?

For the time being, Crunchyroll is not increasing its premium subscription price. However, this might not be the case in future.

Funimation and Crunchyroll merge could be a good news for anime fans as they won’t have to wait to buy separate membership of each streaming service. Funimation had exclusive streaming rights to a number of good shows including Tokyo Ghoul, My Hero Academia, and Mushoku Tensei, which will be available to Crunchyroll subscribers starting from today.
