Solo Leveling is approaching the end of Season 2, and the big question everyone is asking remains unanswered: will the anime get a Season 3? Amid active online discussions, recent statements from key people involved in Solo Leveling have revealed an uncertain future.

Animation producer Atsushi Kaneko recently spoke at the Aniplex After Hours event, where he addressed the future of Solo Leveling in a cautious and unclear manner. “With episode 25, which will air soon, the TV anime series Solo Leveling will come to an end for now,” Ko explained.
He added, “Will this ending be temporary or permanent? I honestly don’t know what the future holds.” Kaneko further pointed out that viewer support and enthusiasm will greatly affect whether the series continues.
This is common in the anime industry, where streaming views, merchandise sales, and fan interactions directly influence production decisions.
Kaneko’s statement suggests Episode 25 could mark a natural stopping point, wrapping up an important storyline from the original webtoon and novels. Still, this uncertainty seems intended to measure fan interest before committing to more seasons.
Contrasting Ko’s cautious approach, Solo Leveling creator Chugong offered a more hopeful outlook. On a Korean forum, Chugong boosted fan excitement by stating, “I think we’ll hear some good news starting from the middle of this year.”
Though his message led to much speculation, it’s unclear if Chugong was specifically hinting at a Season 3 announcement or other updates within the Solo Leveling franchise, such as news on the ongoing webtoon or the highly anticipated Solo Leveling: Arise game.
Given the timing and strong online interest, a Season 3 confirmation seems the most likely “good news” Chugong mentioned. Fans should still remain patient and realistic, recognizing typical production times in the anime industry.
Why Fans Might Have to Wait a Bit Longer?

Unlike the quicker releases of Seasons 1 and 2, future installments of popular series often experience longer production timelines. Anime series often use a “split cour” format, airing seasons in two separate parts but in quick successions to manage studio resources effectively and maintain animation quality.
Solo Leveling season 1 released in March 2024 and season 2 in Jan 2025 which likely means that both seasons were produced as one season and released in two parts. Since season 3 production is most likely not greenlit yet, it will take 12 to 24 months to arrive to the streaming services.
Even with positive news expected around mid-year, releasing a potential Season 3 could realistically take at least a year after confirmation. The detailed and demanding process required to produce high-quality anime means fans might have to wait quite a while.
