JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures: Stone Ocean part 2 is confirmed to be coming to Netflix worldwide on September 1. Here is everything we know so far.
The first part of the JoJo Stone Ocean (episode 1-12) was released on Decemeber 1, and since then fans have eagerly waited for any new information for the remaining of the season 6 (episodes 13-24). During JoJo panel at AnimeExpo on Friday, it was confirmed that JoJo Season 6: Part 2 will be streamed worldwide on Netflix on Sept 1, and Neflix is releasing the anime earlier than the Japanese TV broadcast, which is not something we see often when it comes to anime (apart from JoJo). In fact, Netflix has a history of releasing anime with 2 to 3 weeks delay from the Japanese TV broadcast like in the case of Komi Can’t Communicate anime series. JoJo stone ocean part 2 will air in Japan on Tokyo MX on October 7.
To commemorate the announcement of the release date, a new promotional video has been released.
Just like the previous part of JoJo, Kenichi Suzuki is returning as a chief director at David Production studio who are animating this series. The series composition will be handled by Yasuko Kobayashi, who is returning from the previous season. Character design will be done by Masanori Shino (also worked on Black Lagoon).
Netflix describes the anime series as follows:
Florida, U.S.A, 2011 After an accident while on a drive with her sweetheart, Jolyne Cujoh falls into a trap and is sentenced to fifteen years. She is sent to the state-run maximum-security correctional facility Green Dolphin Street Prison—AKA “the Aquarium.” On the verge of despair, she receives a pendant from her father that causes a mysterious power to awaken inside of her. “There are things in this world that are more terrifying than death, and what’s happening in this prison is definitely one of them.” A message from a mysterious boy who appears before Jolyne, inexplicable events that occur one after another, the horrifying truth told to her by her father when he comes to visit, and the name DIO… Will Jolyne ultimately be set free from this stone ocean, they call a prison? The final battle to end century-long fateful confrontations between the Joestar family and DIO begins!
