Chapter 167 Recap
Before we jump into spoilers for chapter 167 let’s do a quick recap of what went down in the most recent chapter of the series, titled, ‘Tokyo No.1 Colony, Part 7.’
This chapter kicks off with Itadori and Megumi’s goal finally being completed. With Higuruma using 100 of his 102 points to create a new rule in the Culling Games, “Rule 10: Players may transfer a number of their points of their choosing to another player.” He then gives Itadori one of his remaining two points, meaning that since he and Itadori both have at least one point they will be safe for 19 days.
After doing this Higuruma prepares to leave, but Itadori asks him to stay and help him with this whole situation. Higuruma replies that he can’t for if he stays with Itadori he will only end up hating himself more for the murders he committed to amaze all those points. He does mention as he heaves that he will be handing himself over to authorities once the barrier collapses.
With that story completed, we jump over to Megumi and Reggie, where we can see an annoyed Megumi and Reggie, who claims the sorcerer has passed. He then explains that he wants to make an alliance with Megumi seeing as how he is strong. To prove his trust Reggie explains what he thinks Kenjaku is trying to compete with this Culling Game.
After hearing him out Megumi says that if he wants him to join him, he should give him all his points when the new rule is instated. Reggie rejects this and begins his attack, killing one of Megumi’s Shikigami. Reggie then claims that if Megumi doesn’t join them, he should die. Right then a eye drops beside Megumi and begins to explode, ending the chapter.
Chapter 168 Spoilers
Now that we are all caught up, let’s dive right into chapter 168. Warning, however, some raws for the upcoming chapter are already out so there are confirmed spoilers below, you have been warned.
This upcoming chapter kicks off with the owner of that exploding eyeball from last chapter. Proving many peoples’ theories wrong, no the eyeball does not belong to Nobara, nor is it one of her cursed techniques. Instead the eyeball belongs to another new Culling Game player, Hazenoki Iori, who suspiciously shares the same last name as the Kyoto Jujutsu High supervisor, Utahime Iori.
Hazenoki cursed technique allows him to take a piece of his body and use it as a projectile or explosion, he can also regenerate the body part used. Megumi easily dodges this explosion before getting attacked by both Remi and Reggie. The latter of which exposes his cursed technique, which is, to be able to create anything on a receipt, hence why he wears a jacket covered in them. Fushigiro continues to avoid these attacks as Hazenoki bombs him with some teeth.
More annoyed than anything Megumi pulls the girl, Remi inside a room and explains to her to just leave, seeing as how these two don’t even care for her life in this fight. As he steps away, she uses an unknown attack to stab the hero in his stomach with her hair. She then proceeds to yell at him, telling him that Reggie loves her and will protect her. Megumi now even annoyed leaves her and tells Remi he hates people like her.
As Megumi prepares to continue his fight a Kogane appears in front of everyone and informs them of the new point exchange rule system. Smiling Megumi throws one of the grunts out of the building and jumps out after him, repeatedly smashing him in the head with some sort of cursed weapon. Megumi then delivers the killing blow and stabs the man through the head for 5 points.
Iori and Reggie then appear behind Megumi and prepare to continue their original fight. Fushigiro ponders what to do as its a 2-on-1 situation. He mentions that his domain expansion is useless here since it won’t set a barrier allowing these guys to escape. As he thinks Iori shoots an exploding tooth at an exposed Megumi, but instead of hitting him the tooth hits Takaba Fumihiko, the comedian way back from chapter 146.
The chapter ends as we see him in a ridiculous outfit and bleeding after taking the hit. Telling the Reggie and Iori duo that 2-on-1 is unfair and that he will help Megumi out. It is also stated that Fumihiko has zero points.
