Titled “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War – The First Kiss Never Ends,” this movie picks up right where the thrilling season 3 finale left off, leaving viewers eager for more.

Initially released in Japanese theaters in December 2022, followed by a global release in February 2023, Crunchyroll is now bringing the film to select territories. In an interesting twist, the streaming service will release Kaguya-sama: Love Is War – The First Kiss Never Ends in an episodic format. The first two episodes are currently available on Crunchyroll, with episodes 3 and 4 set to premiere on April 2nd, 2023.

Viewers in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand can start streaming the first two episodes now. Fans in other countries will have to wait a bit longer for either Crunchyroll or another streaming platform to announce their release dates. Here’s the official movie synopsis for those who can’t wait to dive in:

Shuchiin Academy’s student council room, the place where Student Council Vice President Kaguya Shinomiya and President Miyuki Shirogane met. After a long battle in love, these two geniuses communicated their feelings and, at the Hoshin Festival, had their very first kiss. However, there was no clear confession of love.

The relationship between these two, who assumed they would be a couple, remains ambiguous. Now, overly conscious of their feelings, they must face the biggest challenge yet: Christmas. It’s Shirogane who wants it to be perfect versus Kaguya who pursues the imperfect situation. This is the very “normal” love story of two geniuses and the first kiss that never ends.

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is a rom-com series created by Aka Akasaka. It was initially published in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Miracle Jump from May 2015 to January 2016 before moving to Weekly Young Jump, where it ran from March 2016 to November 2022. The series has been collected into 28 tankōbon volumes, and Viz Media has licensed it for English release in North America.

Studio A-1 Pictures picked up the manga for an anime adaptation, which has resulted in three seasons so far. In addition to the anime, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War has also been adapted into a live-action film and an OVA episode. Currently, there is no confirmation on season 4 of the anime.
