Kaguya Sama & Oshi no Ko’s Creator Will Start A New Manga

The name Aka Akasaka is now synonymous with romantic comedy anime, and for good reason. This acclaimed mangaka has captivated fans with two popular manga series, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and Oshi no Ko, both of which have successfully transitioned into anime adaptations. After just a single episode, the latter has even managed to outshine its competitors, skyrocketing in ratings.

Aka Akasaka’s mastery of the romance-comedy genre has fans eagerly anticipating more, and they won’t have to wait long. The mangaka’s latest project, Love Agency (Renai Daiko), is set to debut its first chapter on April 27th. The illustrator, Nishizawa 5mm, excitedly announced on Twitter that the series would be penned by the “god of romance” himself, Akasaka.

The new series titled Love Agency (Renai Daiko) will make its grand entrance in Weekly Young Jump’s combined 22nd and 23rd issue, releasing on April 27th. This marks the first manga serialization for the talented artist Nishizawa 5mm, who brings to life an original story crafted by Aka Akasaka.

While specific details about the new manga series remain under wraps, the poster offers a tantalizing glimpse of yet another brilliant romantic comedy in the making. Aka Akasaka has previously announced plans to step away from drawing the manga, focusing instead on the writing that has garnered such adoration from fans.

Aka Akasaka is a renowned manga artist and writer from Japan. His creation, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, was initially serialized in Shueisha’s Miracle Jump from May 2015 until January 2016 before transitioning to Weekly Young Jump in March 2016.

In April 2020, Akasaka introduced Oshi no Ko, a collaboration with illustrator Mengo Yokoyari, which also runs in Weekly Young Jump. This marks his second ongoing series in the magazine simultaneously. Oshi no Ko earned the Next Manga Award in the print category in August 2021, further solidifying Akasaka’s reputation as a talented and successful manga creator.
