Lycoris Recoil is an original anime series animated by A-1 Pictures. The anime tells the story of a secret organization that employs orphan girls to fight against any kind of threats that want to destroy the peace of Tokyo, Japan.
Since the start of the series, the two main characters, Chisato Nishikigi and Takina Inoue have been shipped together by fans. Many anime fans expected the series to go the “yuri route” at the finale, where a clear romantic relationship between the two will be shown, but that wasn’t the case. Some frustrated fans took to the Twitter account of the Lycoris Recoil screenwriter to express their “feelings.”
Twitter user “Baleygr (@Baleygr086) ” pointed out that some fans were harassing the production staff of the original anime studio A-1 Pictures, Lycoris Recoil, specifically the scriptwriter of the show, @kanedanova, Kanbayashi who wrote the script of episodes 4, 8, 9, 11, 12, and 13.
Toxicity and acts of harassment over any staff involved in the production of a series is entirely uncalled for. In the case of LycoReco, the obvious behavior towards Kanbayashi who handled the script for almost half of the series over sullied yuribait expectations is disturbing.

The scriptwriter tweeted to thank all the fans who watched the show. However, the replies turned to nasty comments, and due to harassment, Kanbayashi had to disable the comments on the Tweet.

It seems Takina killed your mother. Then I recommend you to let Chisato and Majima get married since Majima is your father. This will be a perfect solution cuz you can have a mother and Chisato cares more about Majima than Takina.

I have to say that ur script is awful. Almost every characters in the last four episodes are confusing. What makes me feel so angry is that as an essential character, takina seems have nothing to do with the plot and her indeed contributions for chisato is always being ignored.
Apart from that, why are you creating such incidents about majima and chisato? Don’t u know that the true emotion line should be about chisato and takina? Though it’s rude to say but I have to admit that the action between majima and chisato in the last ep make me want to vomit.
You better think about what the audience wants more. The creator should set up the right values for the audience instead of making a bad guy play the leading role.
You are a despicable liar and failed screenwriter.
What’s more worrying is that some of these comments have gotten hundreds of likes which means that many Lycoris Recoil fans also feel the same way. Even if someone doesn’t like the ending, this doesn’t give them the authority to harass someone.
