My New Boss Is Goofy Manga Finally Announces Its Anime Adaptation

After two long years, fans of Dan Ichikawa’s My New Boss is Goofy manga series will finally get what they have been wanting for a long time. It has been officially announced on a website on Tuesday, May 15, 2023 that the manga will have its TV anime adaptation.

Along with the announcement is the anime’s teaser visual and promotional video that reveals the main cast, which includes:

  • Yuichiro Umehara will voice Yūsei Shirosaki
  • Kōtarō Nishiyama will voice Kentarō Momose
  • Tomokazu Sugita will voice Mitsuo Aoyama
  • Jun Fukuyama will voice Aigo Kinjō
  • Hiro Shimono will voice Hakutō Ichikawa’s

This highly-anticipated anime My New Boss is Goofy falls under the romance-comedy genre. It follows the story of Kentarō Momose, a 26-year-old male office worker who moved to a different job after getting harassed by his boss.

Luckily, he will be given the chance to meet and serve Yūsei Shirosakia, who would eventually help him overcome the anxiety he got from his previous boss because of his goofiness.

The promotional video of the upcoming series featured a teaser, the visual, its cast, and staff.

Moreover, Ichikawa produced a new illustration to celebrate the anime adaptation’s announcement.

Akita Shoten Manga Cross website had the manga’s serialization and the first volume’s publication in 2019. The manga series’ second volume was then published in May 2020.

The production committee have yet to announce the exact release date for the anime series.

In 2019, My New Boss is Goofy also known as Atarashii Jōshi wa Do Tennen, garnered first place during the Web Manga General Election wherein  2,500 different web manga series were submitted for the selection.

Aside from that, not long before the second volume got published, the manga had also received other awards and recognitions.

My New Boss is Goofy was third place in the TSUTAYA Comic Grand Prize competition in 2020. In addition, it also won second place in AnimeJapan’s poll (most wanted to get animated, also in 2020).

Therefore, many cannot wait for the fan-favorite manga to be animated through A-1 Pictures to make the series come to life.
