Netflix’s One Piece Live Action Sets Revealed In A Video

Streaming giant, Netflix has shared a first look at the incredible set of One Piece live action during the Netflix Geeked Week Day 1. A two minute clip is shared by Netflix where we can see Inaki Godoy (who plays live action Luffy) alongside the showrunners Matt Owens and Steve Maeda.

A time-lapse clips show the massive ships being built one after another. Three ships are shown in the video including Miss Love Duck, Going Merry, and Baratie.

The creator of the One Piece series, Eiichiro Oda is an executive producer of the series. Live action series is being filmed in Cape Town, South Africa. Tomorrow Studios will be producing the series, they have also worked on hit Netflix series like “Snowpiercer”, and currently they are also working on Cowboy Bepop live action adaptation.

One Piece live action series, season 1 will have a total of 10 episodes. The first season will cover the story of Luffy recruiting his first crew members, including Nami, Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp. The season finale will probably end with Luffy fighting against Arlong. The release date for the live action series is yet to be released.

The live action One Piece series is based on a manga, written and drawn by Eiichiro Oda. The manga series has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 1997. Eiichiro Oda has released more than 1050 manga chapters which have been collected into 100 volumes. Toei Animation is in charge of adapting the manga into an anime series, and so far, they have released more than 1000 episodes.
