Our favorite duo, Boji and Kage, have returned to charm us once again in Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage. It’s essential to note that this installment is not a direct continuation of the original series’ primary storyline. Rather than following the events of season one, Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage focuses on side stories, or fillers, from the manga that highlights Boji’s personal journey and growth.
Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of courage will consist of 10 captivating episodes. Both the first season and this new installment of Ranking of Kings are available for streaming on Crunchyroll with a paid subscription. Adapted from the manga by Sosuke Toka, Ranking of Kings is brought to life by director Yosuke Hatta (Boogiepop and Others assistant director) at WIT Studio. The series also features composition by Taku Kishimoto (Fruits Basket), character designs by Atsuko Nozaki, and a musical score by MAYUKO (Cells at Work!).
Ranking of Kings, or “Ousama Ranking” in Japanese, is a manga series written and illustrated by Sosuke Toka. The manga made its debut on the Manga ONE app and the Ura Sunday website in May 2017. Since its serializatioin, the manga has gained a devoted fan base and critical acclaim for its captivating story, well-developed characters, and unique art style. Wit Studio picked up the manga for an anime adaptation which aired in October 2021.
