Rurouni Kenshin ‘Samurai X’ Is Getting A New Anime Project

Nobuhiro Watsuki’s manga series “Rurouni Kenshin” will be getting a new anime project. It was announced during Jump Festa 2022 live stream. The new manga series will be produced by Liden Films. Samurai X was one of the popular anime series in the 90s.

At the time of writing, the production committee has not revealed that the new anime project will be a remake or a new story. The release date for the new anime series is unknown. A teaser trailer has been released which you can watch below:

Jump Festa 2022 also revealed the release date for Chainsaw Man, Bleach: Final Arc, and Dr Stone season 3.

Rurouni Kenshin manga series is written and illustrated by Nobuhiro Watsuki. The manga series started serialization in April 1994 in Weekly Shonen Jump, and ended serialization in Sept 1998. Studio Deen adapted the manga into an anime series which aired in Japan from Jan 1996 to Sept 1998. The anime series is currently available on Crunchyroll for streaming.
