The wait for the continuation of Sung Jinwoo’s story is nearly over. It was confirmed that Season 2 of the anime will premiere on January 4, 2025. Along with the announcement, a new trailer was released.
It was revealed that the ending theme song titled “UN-APEX” will be performed by TK from Ling tosite sigure. The opening theme for Season 2, titled “ReawakeR,” is performed by LiSA and Felix from Stray Kids.
The song is composed and arranged by Hiroyuki Sawano, who is known for his work on anime such as Attack on Titan and Blue Exorcist. Both opening and ending theme songs can be heard in the background of the maint trailer.
TK shared a comment:
“As an E-rank hunter myself, I’m thrilled to contribute to this project again, this time with my own work. I aimed to capture the cold ruthlessness that grows stronger with intensity. Though I still can’t seem to level up myself, I’m delivering a super S-rank track straight from the lowest of the low.”
Season 1 of the Solo Leveling anime adaptation aired from January 10, 2024, to March 27, 2024. Produced by A-1 Pictures, the first season comprised 13 episodes.
Season 2 was officially announced shortly after the conclusion of Season 1 in March 2024. However, concrete details regarding its production and release were sparse until mid-2024. By mid-year, A-1 Pictures confirmed that the second season would air in January 2025.
Solo Leveling originated as a South Korean web novel written by Chugong in 2016. The series gained widespread recognition after its manhwa adaptation began serialization in 2018, illustrated by Dubu from REDICE Studio. The manhwa ran for 179 chapters, concluding in 2021.
