Episode 1 was titled “The Lawless City.” The episode starts with Cid meeting with his underlings about how the Moon has turned red and the awakening of the Blood Queen is about to happen.
This act will happen at the Lawless City, and Cid will travel alone to handle this issue.
But Claire tags along because she wants to hunt down some vampires that are present in this city. So, they travel together to this Lawless City.
Claire briefly takes her eyes off CId as he vanishes for adventure.
While strolling into the city, he meets two ghouls (human-shaped monsters that devour other humans). As they are about to attack Cid, someone comes to save him.
The person who saved Cid is Mary, the ancient vampire hunter. She tells Cid to run away if he values his life even a little.

Cid dresses up as his Shadow character and saves some people. On the other hand, Claire meets Mary, who saves Cid from ghouls.
They partner up to find where Cid wandered off to again. As the Blood Queen’s revival requires a young boy, Cid is the prime target for this purpose!
