These Were The Worst Anime of 2021 According To Ratings

2021 was a great year for anime fans overall. However, there were some anime series that could be considered the worst anime adaptations of 2021. Here we will discuss a few of these anime series. The list is based on MyAnimeList ratings and my personal opinion.

Tesla Note

Starting the listing with one of the worst CGI I have ever seen in the recent years. This 13 episode anime series aired in Oct 2021, and currently it has a rating of 4.7/10 on MyAnimeList.

If you are one of those fans who enjoy watching hilariously worst animated shows, this could be a great addition to your list.

The Promised Neverland S2

The Promised Neverland was the biggest disappointment of 2021. There was so much anticipation for the 2nd season after the great success of season 1, but it all went downhill from the very first episode. There wasn’t a 1 reason why season 2 failed so badly. The story was rushed as there was enough manga material for 2 more seasons, but it was crammed into the 1 season. Anime skipped a whole arc from the manga, and didn’t even introduced one of the major characters in anime.

Season 2 of the series is rated 5.42/10 on MyAnimeList.

Ex Arm

I can confidently say that out of all the anime on this list, this was the worst anime of the year. I am convinced that you could make a case for Ex Arm to be the worst anime of all time. The characters in this series look so bad, they are completely expressionless, and their mouth movement is completely out of sync with the dialogues.

Honestly, I laughed so hard while watching Ex Arm. I would suggest experiencing this anime first hand. The 12 episode anime series is rated 2.95/10 on MyAnimeList.

The Fruit of Evolution

This isekai series wasn’t necessarily bad, but if you combine the mediocre story, voice acting and animation, it becomes almost unwatchable. In the previous life, the MC gets bullied in school because he is fat. Then he gets reincarnated where he meets a gorilla who falls in love with him. The gorilla later evolves into a cute waifu girl.

This 12 episode anime is rated 6.12/10 on MyAnimeList.

Also, Mushoku Tensei was the top rated anime of Fall 2021 in Japan and Mieruko Chan was the top rated anime outside of Japan according to poll results.
