Tokyo Revengers’ Mangaka Returns with New Supernatural Yakuza Manga

Fans of Tokyo Revengers, which concluded in November 2022, won’t have to wait long to experience Wakui’s signature art style and amazing storytelling once again.

Ken Wakui, the talented author behind the immensely popular Tokyo Revengers manga series, is set to make his return with a new manga titled “Negai no Astro.” While the official English title has not been announced, the literal translation of the Japanese title is “Wish’s Star.”

Negai no Astro is scheduled to release its first chapter on April 15 in the upcoming Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Similar to Tokyo Revengers, the new series will incorporate supernatural elements into its narrative.

The story is set during the succession war of the Yotsurugu-gumi yakuza clan, with the main protagonist aspiring to become the strongest yakuza and supporting his friend’s bid to become the next group leader.

The first chapter of Negai no Astro will be an impressive 58 pages long, giving readers a substantial introduction to this new world.

A promotional video has been released, showcasing not only Negai no Astro but also two other new manga series debuting in Weekly Shonen Jump. “Kyokutō Necromance” by Fusai Naba, creator of Aliens Area, will launch on April 22, while “Saikurubiyori” by Omusuke Kobayashi will follow on May 13.
