Yuji Itadori might be the protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen series, but he is not the most popular character in the series. When it comes to being popular and being the strongest, you don’t need to look further than Gojo Satoru. Jujutsu Kaisen fans are anxiously waiting for the second season, which is scheduled to be released sometime in 2023, but fans won’t be seeing much of Gojo in the 2nd season.
What Will Happen To Gojo In Season 2?
Before we go in further, keep in mind that there will be manga spoilers ahead. Now, we all know that Gojo is the strongest Jujutsu sorcerer in the world. In fact, he is so over powered that the author had to send him away, so that the other characters of the series could shine as well, and the series could become more competitive. We know that there is no villain in the story (so far) who could take on Gojo alone.
The antagonist of the story, Kenjaku (who is currently possessing Geto) wants to evolve humans using cursed energy. The biggest obstacle Geto has to overcome to achieve his goal is Gojo Satoru. Of course, Gojo is too powerful to be killed, so Geto and others plan to seal Gojo in a prison realm. As you might have guessed, they succeed in imprisoning Gojo.
How Much Screen Time Will Gojo Have In Season 2?
There will still be plenty of screen time for Gojo Satoru in the initial episodes of season 2 as fans will get to see Gojo’s back story, and how he became the strongest. Season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen adapted a total of 64 manga chapters. Gojo gets imprisoned in chapter 91. If the pacing of the 2nd season remains the same, there will be only 9 to 10 episodes of Gojo in season 2.
In Which Season Gojo Will Come Back?
Jujutsu Kaisen manga series have released 187 chapters so far, and still there is no sign of Gojo coming back. Considering the fact that the author of the series, Akutami Gege wants to end the manga series in 1 to 2 years, Gojo’s return might be closer. Season 1 adapted 64 chapters of the manga, and if the future seasons also have the same pacing, anime fans won’t see Gojo till season 4 of Jujutsu Kaisen series.
