A New Idol Anime Like Oshi no Ko Set to Release in 2024

If you are a fan of idol anime, you might have enjoyed Oshi no Ko, the anime that aired in 2023 and told the story of living life in the entertainment industry.

The anime was praised for its realistic and dramatic portrayal of the idol world, as well as its catchy songs and memorable characters.

But if you are looking for more anime like Oshi no Ko, you might be interested in a new anime film that is coming out in 2024. The film is called trapezium, and it is based on a novel by Kazumi Takayama, a former member of the popular idol group Nogizaka46.

trapezium follows the journey of Yū Higashi, a high school girl who dreams of becoming an idol. To achieve her goal, she sets four rules for herself: she will not be active on social media, she will not have a boyfriend, she will not stand out in school, and she will make friends with beautiful girls from the north, south, east, and west.

The film will depict the ten years of her life as she pursues her idol career.

The film is directed by Masahiro Shinohara, who has worked on anime such as Blend S and Is the order a rabbit?, and supervised by Koji Masunari, who has storyboarded anime such as Oshi no Ko and TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You.

The script is written by Yuuko Kakihara, who has penned anime such as The Apothecary Diaries and Buddy Daddies. The character designs are done by Rio, who illustrated the light novel Sorcerous Stabber Orphen -Chaos in Urbanrama.

The music is composed by Masaru Yokoyama, who has created the soundtracks for anime such as Farewell, My Dear Cramer: The Movie, Fruits Basket -prelude-, and Horimiya. The theme song is performed by MAISONdes, a new idol group.

trapezium will premiere in Japan on May 10, 2024, and will be distributed by Aniplex.
