Black Clover’s latest chapter is almost upon us! And from the looks of it, this week’s chapter will be huge for Asta and may even spell victory for Lucius. Spoilers also revealed the tragic fate of sister Lily. Yes, it’s that big of a chapter!

Chapter 333 Recap
Before we jump into spoilers for chapter 334 let’s do a quick recap of what went down in the most recent chapter of the series, titled, ‘The Saviour of This World and its Flaw.’ Be sure to read the chapter yourself, you can find it for free and officially down below!
The chapter starts off with a huge information-packed page, giving us some backstory and impressions of Lucius. The first bombshell the chapter drops is in its very first line, where it confirms that Lucius and Julius, much like Patry and William, are two souls born into one body. We see how Lucius (the time devil) came to make a contract with the time devil Astaroth before jumping over to a conversation between Lucius and Julius.
Lucius tells his fellow soul that he’s seen the future and found a way for true peace. Julius does not agree with his methods; something Lucius says he also foresaw and planned for. From there, it seems Lucius places some enchantment on his lighter counterpart.
With that, we cut back to Lucius versus Asta. Immediately recognizing that this isn’t just quite the Wizard King he knows, Asta asks the man who he is. To which Lucius responds by stopping time around the entire castle. Immediately powering up and negating the effects for himself with Anti-Magic Asta takes in his surroundings and once more asks the intruder who he truly is.
Answering truthfully the devil’s host tells him that he is Lucius Zogratis, the savior of this world. Adding to that he also reveals that Julius, the Wizard King is dead. Asta is shocked, but doesn’t get a chance to say anything before Lucius begins to explain his master plan to the hero. After hearing all that and understanding that this man is the enemy, Asta powers up and prepares to take down his latest enemy.
As the chapter wraps up Asta activates his Anti-Magic freeing the area from the time pause and announces that right here, right now he will surpass the Wizard King!
Chapter 334 Spoilers
Now that we are all caught up, let’s dive right into chapter 334. Warning, however, some raws for the upcoming chapter are already out so there are confirmed spoilers below, you have been warned.
It seems that the chapter kicks off with a brief fight between Asta and Lucius, and it doesn’t look good for our hero. Following his brazen announcement, last chapter Asta is struggling to even land a hit on the time magic user. Rewinding time on his own body Lucius has essentially made himself untouchable, but that doesn’t stop Asta from trying. After the non-stop attacks, it appears that Asta may have been able to land a small hit on Lucius as he was reaching out toward him.
However, this small victory is immediately ruined when Lucius steps back and powers up! Once again repeating that Asta and Liebe’s anti-magic is a power that threatens the peace of his world, Lucius promises to stop it. It seems that all Julius’ years of being Wizard King may have rubbed off on Lucius after all…
The new form that the villain appears in looks almost angelic, which doesn’t match at all seeing as how he is supposed to be a devil host. Now sprouting two sets of wings, what look to be deer antlers and an enormous circle of light or a halo, Lucius claims that this is the true human form.

Now in his, in what many fans are referring to as, “angel form” Lucius appears behind Sister Lily and again begins to monologue. As we predicted last week, Lucius confirms that his magic is called “Soul magic” and allows him to change the souls of those he touches. From an outward glance, this ability seems very much like that of Mahito’s from Jujutsu Kaisen. As Lucius hovers over Sister Lily, he tells Asta that he will now show him what a truly happy person looks like.
This is where the chapter’s twist comes into play. Lucius turns Sister Lily into a demon…or so it appears! As he explained before the new form he has taken is the true form of humanity and whatever alterations he made to Sister Lily’s soul has given her a form similar if not identical.
No longer being the Lily we’ve grown to love, this version of the nun appears with horns, two sets of wings, and a halo above her head. Clearly influenced by Lucius, Sister Lily turns to Asta and asks him to die for the sake of world peace.
Not believing his ears, Asta simply stands there in shock before taking a major hit from Lucius. As he falls through the sky, blood gushing from his chest, Lucius tells his opponent that with Asta’s current fragile soul he couldn’t beat him. And with the words, goodbye flaw of this world, the wild ride that is chapter 334 comes to a close!
Release Date
Black Clover 334 is currently expected to release Sunday, August 21st, 2022. As of the writing of this article, there have been no announced delays to the upcoming chapter. Meaning that the official English release of Black Clover will most likely stick to schedule and release as usual.
