According to Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 46 leaks, Black Clover’s upcoming movie is titled “Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King,” and it will be released on March 31, 2023, in Japanese theatres and on the same day worldwide release on Netflix as well.
Alongside the release date, a movie key visual has also been leaked, showing Asta holding a sword and ready to fight.
An anime film getting a worldwide premiere on the same day as Japan is unheard of, and the film releasing on Netflix is another happy surprise for fans. Usually, international anime fans are accustomed to waiting for months before an anime film gets a release date for countries outside of Japan. One Piece film Red, and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 are some of the recent anime films which were released internationally, 3 to 4 months after the Japanese release.
Not much is known about the plot details or whether the movie will adapt the manga series or it will be an original story. Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King is likely to be a non-canon film since the manga arc where the anime series left off has more than 70 chapters that are impossible to be covered in a 1.5 to 2-hour film.
According to the leaks, a new character will be included. Previous Wizard King, name “Conrad” will play an important part in the upcoming film. Wizard King Conrad’s visual drawn by Yuki Tabata has also been leaked. The people of Clover Kingdom loved the previous Wizard King, Conrad. Toshihiko Seki, who is known for voicing Muzan (Demon Slayer), and Umino (Naruto) will voice Conrad.
The official Twitter account of Black Clover anime Tweeted on October 2, 2023, that new movie information will be released in the upcoming days. We will update the article once the new information comes out.
Black Clover anime is based on the manga of the same name, written and drawn by Yuki Tabata. He began publishing the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in February 2015. The manga series is currently in its final arc. Manga volumes have been collected into 32 volumes.
