Read on to find the answers to these questions and more as we break down everything you need to know for this week’s chapter of Blue Lock, titled, ‘Environment.’

Chapter 152 Recap
Before we jump into chapter 153’s spoilers, let’s do a quick recap of what went down in chapter 152.
Last week’s chapter kicks off with some classic moody Rin monologuing as he wonders why? He stole the ball away so why did his brother recognize Isagia and not him. We don’t learn the answer to this as we jump away to Isagi and his family as he and his mother and father prepare for dinner. His father points out that they are showing his interview again, as he giddily records it, alongside the many other recordings he has of it.
As they eat Isagi’s parents tell him that, though he is famous and well known now the most important thing to them is Isagi is happy and giving it his best. They tell him that he should live his life the way he wants to. Later, as he thinks about these words he wonders if that’s what it means to be an egotist.
Before he can finish that thought he and all the other Blue Lock players, including Shindou and Rin, get a text from Anri, informing them that Blue Lock will be starting back up and to meet at the building. The chapter ends as the players start to file out of a bus and enter the Blue Lock building, now surrounded by paparazzi trying to get a shot of them.
Chapter 153 Spoilers
Now that we are all caught up, let’s dive right into chapter 153, titled ‘Environment. Warning, however, raws for the upcoming chapter are already out so there are confirmed spoilers below, you have been warned.
After their well-deserved break the Blue Lock team has returned to their desired battlefield or their environment, hence the name of the chapter. The chapter kicks off with all the players entering the Blue Lock buildings where they see many of the U-20 team members they faced against in their latest game.
Isagi approaches Aiku, the captain and center defender for the U-20 team. As he approaches him, he asks what is happening and why they are here, to which Aiku replies you’ll find out soon enough don’t worry. Confused by this Isagi turns away, running right into Rin. Smiling Isagi tells his quote on quote rival, “I’m glad your back Blue Lock isn’t the same without you.” Annoyed Rin barks back at Isagi telling him to get away from him before he kills him, also calling him a pretend hero.
Isagi still laughing, replies by saying, “shut up you pretend villain.” Before Rin can bark back Ego walks into the wide room with his usual greeting, hello you unpolished gems. Ego then begins to announce his reason and planning for bringing both the Blue Lock and U-20 teams together. He tells them that he now has complete control over the Blue Lock program and the Japanese U-20 team, seeing how he has both he has decided to make an all-new U-20 team. Comprised of both Blue Lock players and the old U-20 team, whom he calls ‘loser dogs.’
Telling the group that the U-20 World Cup starts in 100 days, Ego tells them that he will prepare them, striking the iron while it’s still hot. Up till now, he has awakened their egos and made them aware of their potential weapons, but now by changing their environment, he will make them stronger and rise them to stage two. Ego tells his players that he will throw them into the world’s highest peak, the big five European soccer leagues.
Ego then tells the group that if they want to sharpen themselves, they must pick the right environment, giving the players five countries to choose from. England, known for their speed plays, Spain, for its creative plays, Italy, for its tactics and defense, France known for its up-and-coming rookies, and Germany for its logical plays.
The players have three hours to choose their environment, one of those five countries. Finally, Ego tells them that each player’s new revival in their chosen environment will be the final selection for the new U-20 team that will play in the world cup.
The chapter ends right as the timer on the player’s phones begins. Ending the chapter with this last quote, “bet your entire future on it, choose the ‘environment’ in which you will fight.”
