Hunter x Hunter fans want to see one thing the most and that is the ‘promised’ Dark Continent Arc. After the confirmation that the mysterious Twitter account that was claiming to be Togashi (HxH creator) is in fact Togashi himself, the same account shared the first look from the upcoming chapters.
The above image shows a blurry looking tree in a forest. Keep in mind that in the manga, currently the story is not focusing on Gon or Killua, but on Kurapika who is traveling on the ship which is headed to the Dark Continent. After this sneak peek from the upcoming chapters, fans are speculating that we will get a glimpse of the Dark Continent.
As for as the release date for Hunter x Hunter next chapter is concerned, Shonen Jump have yet to update the fans. Hunter x Hunter anime return is probably far away for now, but the voice actresses of Gon and Killua are surely looking forward to voicing these characters again in the anime.

Synopsis
HUNTER x HUNTER is set in a world where hunters exist to perform all kinds of dangerous tasks, such as capturing criminals and bravely searching for lost treasures in uncharted territories. Twelve-year-old Gon Freecss is determined to become the best hunter he can be in hopes of finding his father, who was a hunter and abandoned his family long ago. However, Gon soon realizes that the path to achieving his goals is far more challenging than he ever imagined.
On the way to becoming an official hunter, Gon befriends the spirited doctor-in-training Leorio, the vengeful Kurapika, and the rebellious ex-assassin Killua. To achieve their own goals and wishes, the four of them together take the Hunter Exam, known for its low success rate and high chance of death. Along their journey, Gon and his friends embark on an adventure that puts them through many hardships and struggles. They’ll meet a host of monsters, creatures, and characters, all while learning what it really means to be a hunter.
