According to a teaser from the Fortnite game’s official Twitter account, Dragon Ball will apparently be joining Fortnite in a new collaboration on August 16. The wish-granting dragon Shenron is mentioned in the announcement, but no information is provided regarding the characters or objects that will be added. The teasing announcement can be seen below:
Rumours of Dragon Ball x Fortnite collaboration have been circulating on social media since July. According to Fortnite data miners, four character skins are coming to the game as well as a mysterious in-game event. According to a new leak, players will be able to go Super Saiyan in Fortnite. Of course, official confirmation from Fortnite is yet to be made about what in-game Dragon Ball items will be available.
Shenron is one of Dragon Ball’s many recurring characters. In Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, and even Dragon Ball GT (which isn’t canon), he’s the earthly wish dragon who could play the big bad guy in the upcoming Fortnite mysterious game event. The teaser revealed by the Fortnite Twitter account is also hinting that Shenron could be a major character in the next event.
The US premiere of the film DRAGON BALL SUPER: SUPER HERO, which is slated to air on August 19, is rapidly approaching. Given that the film focuses on Gohan and Piccolo, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if 2 of the 4 skins are of Gohan and Piccolo. The next apparent choices are Goku and Vegeta, but we won’t know for sure until the official confirmation.
Fortnite previously collaborated with the Naruto franchise and various in-game items including emotes and skins (Sasuke, Naruto, Hinata, Gara, Itachi, and Kakashi) were released.
