Gon And Killua Won’t Have Screen Time Even If Hunter x Hunter Anime Returns

After almost 3 years of break, Hunter x Hunter manga is confirmed to be returning as the author of the series is working continuously on the new chapters. After the manga series makes its comeback to the Shonen Jump magazine, it won’t be long till we see the Hunter x Hunter anime making a return as well.

In the final episodes of the anime, we saw Gon and Killua parting ways to continue their journey separately, Gon Freecs went to see his father, while Killua decided to spend his time with his little sister, Alluka. Now, fans are wondering if they will see Gon and Killua again once the anime returns? First, let us summarize what Gon and Killua are doing in the story so far.

Gon’s battle with Neferpitou did a major damage to his body. Although, thanks to Killua’s brother, Alluka, Gon returned to his normal form, but he lost his Nen abilities and also lost his ability to see his own aura. Gon had decided to live a normal life with his aunt, and he has started going to school.

After saying Goodbye to Gon Freecs, Killua has devoted his life to protect his little sister, Alluka. His little sister was treated very harshly by his family who only saw him as a property. Their family is still in pursuit of Alluka, so Killua wants to do everything in his power to protect Alluka.

The current story of the manga, mainly focuses on Kurapika. You can also say that currently, he is the protagonist of the story. Kurapika and Leorio are currently traveling on a boat, guarding the baby prince in a Succession Contest. Kurapkia was persuaded to join the mission in return to receive information on who has the Scarlet Eyes that he is continuously searching for. The boat is headed to the dark continent. Next anime season of Hunter x Hunter will adapt this arc, so no screen time for Killua & Gon.

Recently, the pacing of the manga series has been on the slow side. Fans have complained that there is more dialogue and less action. There is no hint in the manga chapters that we will see Gon and Killua again, but given that both Gon and Killua are the two major protagonists of the story, they will surely make a comeback in the near future. But as far as the Hunter x Hunter season 7 is concerned, there is very little chance of Gon & Killua screen time.

      1. Actually there is still a part where you say brother instead of sister. No hate at all to you but it needs to be sister because that is how she sees herself. You say “ Although, thanks to Killua’s brother, Alluka” Love your article though thanks for sharing.

        1. Stop complaining. He is a biological male. This is why his whole family refers to him as a male. Killua is the only person who has decided to entertain Allukas wants to be a female.

          1. Allukas family refers to her as ‘him’ referencing her as an “it” in Japanese because they don’t view her as a person. Not because of her gender.

          2. The whole point of the family referring to Alluka as male is to reflect the lack of compassion and total disregard for Alluka’s autonomy.
Maybe pay attention to the plot instead of telling people to stop complaining when someone makes a mistake.

      2. Don’t know why everyone is getting upset over a fictional charcter gender but I found it funny that you were alternating in-between the two genders.

    1. Many fans had made theories and conclusions that Alluka is a girl but her family refers to Nanika with male pronouns; some say that Alluka identifies as transgender woman, or because of Nanika Alluka doesn’t have a gender.

    2. The author didn’t go “out of their way” to Kia gender. It was a simple mistake. You’re weird for going out of your way to make this seem so.

  1. I just wanted to say you should change the little brother part because alluka sees herself as a girl and not a boy….

  2. I feel like anything could happen. Didn’t alluka completely heal or “revert gon back”, meaning at some point he might regain Nin.? With the way the anime ended, I personally felt like Gon’s journey was just about to really begin.

  3. OH heck no to the no no no.why arent yall going to give killua and gon screen time.I mean i read it but there like the most popular people in the entire show. Will hisoka and illumi be there???

  4. Hey, good catch up on the manga. I thought Gon isn’t going back home to go to school. I thought he was trying to figure out how to get access to his new again. Ging said his new is trapped in his body. I thought he was on a mission to get it back.

Either way, I’m curious to see what happens. Don’t forget the Spiders are also there in this arc along with Asoka. Between them, the 2 Zoldyks brothers, Kurapika, and Asoka there is bound to be a huge fight for supremacy.

  5. Guys. First off, please stop with the gender thing. The blog post isnt focused on this. Stop judging the writer. Hunter x Hunter has always been like that. They go back and forth. Its a japanese language thing. Many anime have done this as well. Its almost a part of the culture. Until Yoshihiro properly explains what Alluka really is, just chill. Please.

Now, this whole post may very well be clickbait and a trollbait.

How can you continue Hunter x Hunter and NOT include Gon and Killua? The storylines are big enough to have many side stories going at the same time. Why would they purposely exclude the two main characters? No.

Hunter x Hunter has always featured all characters, except for this newer arc. The story in a sense, got too big.

Greed island was a big example of this. They couldnt feature Kurapika and Leorio as they had no use on greed island.

Lets just wait and see. Remember who this mangaka is. This is Yoshihiro Togashi. The man who invented YuYu Hakusho. Let him do his thing. I think he has gotten enough feedback based on these last few arcs. As a matter of fact, Sailor Moon’s mangaka will be writing this new arc. It should be good.

    Lets wait and see.

  6. Does anyone else feel a little upset with Alluka since she’s kind of the reason why they both had to separate? Gon said it himself that once he meets his father, Killua would be the first person he’ll introduce, yet it never happened. I was really bummed about that. But then again, I am thankful that Alluka saved Gon. There wouldn’t have been any other way for a main character to survive.
