Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 239 Spoilers & Raw Scans:
Although chapter 238 of the series left everyone on a deadly cliffhanger, the latest chapter diverted its focus from Higurama, Hakari, and Yuuji to Kenjaku and two new characters.
By changing the point of view, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 239 begins with an unknown woman fleeing from someone.
Whoever that woman is, she is angered at Kenjaku for all of the events that took place in the Culling Games.
The woman asks Kenjaku about his actions; are they not too cruel? Give someone life by turning them into cursed objects and then retake their life.
However, her attempt to escape Kenjaku fails, and he entraps her with a jellyfish-type curse. Kenjaku says if something is tasteless, he will add more flavor; if it becomes much more vital, he will add some of the original elements.
Shrouded in terror, that woman tries to fight back, but with how atrocious Kenjaku is, he seals her head. Kenjaku calls everyone too good to be wasted, and that is why he is hosting the culling games to preserve their cursed energy.
Kenjaku explains he has applied cursed objects on reincarnated sorcerers and a cursed symbol on awakened sorcerers.
This way, he can track everyone down easily. Kenjaku kills her by sealing her head, and someone else arrives.
Hazenoki makes his return and confronts Kenjaku. Kenjaku talks about how someone can be his friend; they should not be bored and be on the same level. Hazenoki rejects his offer to become his friend as he has already had enough of a ‘long-hair friend.’
Kenjaku asks Hazenoki to hold on for a minute, and he begins spectating the fight between Gojo and Sukuna with an unidentified device. This seemingly confirms that this event happened while the strongest fought each other.
It is then explained that Kenjaku has left his numerous cursed spirits in Shinjuku to keep an eye on the Culling Games. If somebody disbands the game, he can identify their identity with the amount of cursed energy they have.
Kenjaku adds that they have managed to awaken Maki Zenin and Mei Mei’s little brother, who most likely possesses Spatial Transportation techniques. Their fight begins, and Kenjaku attacks Hazenoki with his curses.
His curses explode on Hazenoki as soon as they impact Hazenoki’s body. He tries to flee, but Kenjaku apprehends him before he can run.
Kenjaku reveals his big plan. He is set to eliminate every Culling Games player and use their cursed energy to merge with Master Tengen.
Before Hazenoki dies, he tells Kenjaku to look at himself to answer his curiosities, and suddenly, someone else enters.
Takaba has entered the field! He is planning to fight against Kenjaku and instantly engages in combat. Kenjaku wonders why he came alone and without Mei Mei’s monitoring. Either way, Kenjaku has no interest in anyone except Higurama.
Kenjaku attacks Takaba with a significant move, but unexpectedly, Takaba survives that attack, which supposedly has killed many people. Kenjaku is in profound disbelief. Takaba calls him a stupid monk and will send him to jail.
The chapter ends with Takaba getting back up from his attack and, surprisingly, is not injured in any way, and he declares war with Kenjaku.
No break next week! The series will return with the next issue of Weekly Shonen Jump and will be available to read on the Viz Media website and Mangaplus app/website.
