However, new information reveals that he was almost defeated in one of his previous battles, which could have prevented all the upcoming terrible events caused by Sukuna.

According to a credible leaker, the upcoming manga Volume #24 will have additional pages for some chapters. One of these pages, from Chapter 213, has caught the eye of fans.

To provide some context, in Chapter 213, Sukuna had already taken over Megumi’s body and was in full control.

When Hana Kurusu, who has a crush on Megumi, saw this, she immediately attempted to save him.

For those unfamiliar, Hana Kurusu is a young sorcerer participating in the Culling Game, with the ancient sorcerer Angel incarnated into her body.

Angel’s goal is to defeat Sukuna, whom they refer to as the fallen one.

In simple terms, Hana’s relationship with Angel is similar to Yuji’s with Sukuna, but in the first case, the relationship is more symbiotic, with Hana and Angel cooperating due to aligned interests.

When Sukuna first took over Megumi’s body, he hadn’t yet accessed his true power. Angel saw an opportunity to separate Sukuna from Megumi before he could further establish control.

Using their attack, “Jacob’s Ladder,” Angel inflicted serious damage on Sukuna. Facing defeat, Sukuna used deception, pretending Megumi had regained control, and opened his arms for a hug from Hana.

Unwittingly, Hana fell into Sukuna’s trap, and he bit her right arm, causing serious injury.

Jujutsu Kaisen New Pages Show Sukuna Was Much Closer To Defeat

The extra pages for Chapter 213, included in Volume 24, depict Sukuna in pain and visibly burning.

This is the only time in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga where Sukuna is seen in this state, raising the question: Could Hana have defeated Sukuna at that moment?

How would the future of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga have changed if that had happened?

According to the leaker, Gege Akutami, the author of Jujutsu Kaisen, has also made corrections to another panel showing Hana’s attack on Sukuna, in which Sukuna is almost fully burnt.

These updated panels might be hinting that we will see more of Angel and Hana in the upcoming chapters, as they were the ones who seriously injured Sukuna, forcing him to use cunning tactics to avoid defeat.

With Gojo Satoru, the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer, now out of Sukuna’s way, other sorcerers will likely need to team up if they want to have a chance against Sukuna, especially now that he is back to his old form.

The addition of extra pages to these chapters also suggests the possibility of seeing more of the Gojo vs. Sukuna battle.

Many fans have expressed that the fight seemed to end too abruptly, and there should be more context provided on why Gojo lost.

Furthermore, Gege Akutami recently revealed that he might have forgotten to draw an entire manga chapter, making this comment after the release of Chapter 236, where Sukuna presumably kills Gojo.

Having more panels detailing the Gojo vs. Sukuna battle would indeed be a treat for the fans. However, they will have to wait a bit longer for this, as Chapter 236 will be covered in Volume 26, set to release on April 4, 2024.
