New Anime From Same Studio As Sword Art Online, Drops Release Date

Studio A-1 Pictures is known for releasing some of the most popular anime series, including Sword Art Online, Kaguya Sama: Love Is War, and Your Lie In April. This time, A-1 Pictures will be releasing an original anime series titled “Engage Kiss”, which is scheduled to release on July 2nd in Japan. License for international streaming has not been picked up by any streaming giants at the time of writing. Likely, Crunchyroll will be bringing the series to international viewers the same day as released in Japan.

The story is set in a mega floating city which was created after the discovery of new energy sources. A young man named Shuu has a small shop in the area. Due to Shuu’s reckless spending, he leads a meager life. Kisara is a high school girl who does any kind of work as a time part time job. Kisara also worked with Shuu, she is worried about him. Another girl, Ayano who is Shuu’s ex girlfriend is also worried about him. The story is a love triangle taking place on a floating island.

As this is an original anime series (meaning no original material like manga or light novel), we don’t know the exact details of the plot. But, according to the trailer, fans are going to get a lot of romance, fighting, fan service, magic and blood. Also, check out the promotional poster for the anime series:

Engage Kiss anime series

The production team includes Tomoya Tanaka as a director of the series. He is known for directing Visual Prison anime series. Tsunako is in charge of character design, also worked on Date a Live, while Masaaki Takiyama (Sword Art Online) is in charge of adapting them to animation. The soundtrack will be composed by Yoshiaki Fujisawa (worked on Mushoku Tensei, No Game No Life). Halca will perform the opening theme song “Dare Kare Scramble,” while Akari Nanawo will perform the ending theme song “Renai Nou.”

The main voice cast includes Souma Saitō (Tatsumi from Akame ga Kill) as Shuu Ogata. Saya Aizawa (Norn Greyrat from Mushoku Tensei) as Kisara. Lynn (Sakura from I want to eat your pancreas) as Yuugiri Ayano.

  1. Instead of making new stuff that can’t guarantee it being successful just remake Tokyo Ghoul damit it’s would be better than many other anime no Scratch that Top 3 Anime out there if they adapt it properly and have a good animation

      1. Completely… Tokyo Ghoul is a great anime but its good enough as it is… why make it again when it’s gonna be basically the same and we don’t care for that… if you want to watch Tokyo Ghoul then go watch it again you don’t need a remake of it… new is always better

  2. I think it would be great cause the character designs will be great and also im a fan of sword art online.But i don’t like the fact the Main character is not overpowered.Just opinions
