The new arc in the One Punch Man manga series has officially started. The previous arc focused on Cosmic Garou, but the upcoming arc is likely to be focused more on Genos, but before that, we have got another companion that will be living with Saitama and Genos from now on.

Story So Far
After the fight between the monster association and the hero association, the city was destroyed. All the monsters were believed to be eliminated; however, a few of them were still hiding in the rubble.
Many S-rank heroes and monsters had been poisoned by radiation due to Cosmic Garou. Several villains were confirmed to have survived the battle, but their whereabouts remained unknown.
The S-class hero Pig God, still recovering from radiation poisoning, decided to leave the hospital and return to the battle site to check the area. He had suspicions that some monsters were still hiding there.
Pig God’s suspicions are confirmed when, while searching for monsters, he discovers Evil Natural Water that has survived Saitama’s Serious Punch. Pig God instantly devours it, digesting it, and finally gets rid of that monster once and for all.
Black Sperm is hiding under a rock, terrified after seeing what Pig God just did, knowing that if he is discovered, he will face the same fate as Evil Natural Water. Fortunately for him, the S-class hero chose to leave because he had already eaten.
While attempting to flee, Black Sperm notices that Saitama and Genos are collecting stuff. Upon seeing them, he remembers that the bald hero was the one who defeated Garou with a single strike; cursing his luck, he attempts to escape from there.
Saitama’s New Pet
Just before escaping, Black Sperm overhears Saitama saying that he found a dog. He sees Saitama petting the dog, but on closer inspection, Black Sperm realizes that that thing in Saitama’s hand is not just an ordinary dog but a powerful monster.
The name of Saitama’s dog is Overgrown Rover, and he is a six-eye powerful dragon-level monster that Saitama once encountered before. Because of some unknown reason, his size has been decreased to an ordinary dog after the monster association arc.
Black Sperm realizes that Saitama has not killed Rover, but rather is petting him as if he were a puppy. Black Sperm comes with the idea of befriending the bald hero to survive a bit longer, as he currently lacks power and a place to live.
One thing that this chapter confirmed is that Saitama loves dogs. One Punch Man chapter 172 will be released on October 20th, and we will find out if the Black Sperm will be joining Rover as Saitama’s pet or not.
