It’s been two long years since the highly popular webcomic series One Punch Man went into hiatus, luckily the series is returning pretty soon and fans couldn’t get more excited.

One Punch Man webcomic return was announced with the official statement from Yusuke Murata, illustrator of the manga adaptation, on his Twitter account that the series’ original webcomic will return with chapter 142 on May 13, 2023.

One Punch Man is one of the best Japanese superhero manga series. Its manga remake had sold over 30 million copies by 2020, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time.

The series was made popular by the art of Yusuke Murata who took the manga art to new heights. On the other hand, the web comic of One Punch Man isn’t known for having a good art style.

Luckily, ONE’s art has reportedly become a lot better. Looks like ONE wasn’t sitting idle in the past 2 years.

Several fans couldn’t help but share on Twitter their excitement for the webcomic’s return:

Its anime adaptation was aired in Japan from October 2015 to July 2019 and has been a nominee for Best Protagonist (Saitama) and Best Antagonist (Garou) during the 2020 Crunchyroll Anime Awards and a nominee for the Best Animated Program during the 2017 International Online Cinema Awards.

Furthermore, what makes the series interesting is that it has a main character who is argumentatively the most formidable anime character due to his incredible superhuman strength and who continues to live up to his superhero name.

About One Punch Man Webcomic

ONE developed the original webcomic manga in early 2009, but Yusuke Murata published a digital remake on Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump website in June 2012.

Meanwhile, Viz Media has licensed the remake manga for English language release and had it serialized in its Weekly Shonen Jump digital magazine.

As of November 2022, the series has 27 volumes in total. When Chapter 141 was released in July 2021, and ONE announced that they will have a new series, fans assumed the webcomic had ended.

However, creator ONE has never failed to exceed our expectations as they published a new chapter featuring Genos’ power-up and is currently receiving rave reviews from fans.
