The highly-recognized game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice seems to be getting an anime adaptation, according to an anime leaker on Twitter.
The fans of the game are excited to hear this news as it is one of the best games of the souls-borne genre.
On May 18, leaker @oecuf0 posted about the anime announcement on their Twitter Account. They also announced that it would be animated by a ‘Japanese studio’.
The leaker @oecuf0 seems to be a credible source of information for anime and manga fans as they have previously leaked some big announcements and have gathered a following of 11,000 on Twitter.
What is Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice about?
The award-winning game takes place in the Sengoku-era of Japan, where the player takes the role of a shinobi named Wolf, who is on a journey to rescue his kidnapped lord and seek revenge against his enemies.
The story of this game revolves around Loyalty and the pursuit to become immortal as Wolf, our main character, encounters a lot of supernatural forces. At the same time, he unravels the complex tale of his beautiful land.
The game was launched in March 2019. Sekiro was highly praised by critics and players alike as soon as the game was released.
In 2018, when the trailer for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was released, it was already nominated for three different video game award ceremonies for being the ‘Most Wanted’ game.
The game was nominated and won ‘The Game of The Year’ title in 2019, for The Game Awards; overthrowing 5 other games. This title is known as the best piece of achievement in the gaming industry.
In 2020, the game yet again received multiple nominations and won 2 of them, for outstanding visuals and yet another Video Game of the Year award, hosted by SXSW Gaming Awards.

Expectations for The Anime Adaptation
There is no release date for the Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice anime for now, but we can expect the anime’s official announcement sooner or later in 2023. Which will likely be followed with a release date announcement for the anime adaptation.
The Leaker also mentioned that the Studio for the anime IS NOT Mappa, and it’s going to be some big studio like Toei Animation that refrains from using a lot of CGI in their anime.
