It’s not an everyday occurrence to hear of a second season being confirmed while the first one is still airing. Yet, according to a trustworthy leaker on Weibo, the anime Oshi no Ko is set to enjoy a second run.
The popularity of the Oshi no Ko series has surged dramatically, largely due to its 90-minute inaugural episode. Given the anime’s rising popularity, it seemed inevitable that a sequel would soon be announced.
Weibo, a popular social media platform in China, is where the user appears to have leaked the rumour regarding the second season of Oshi no Ko.
Interestingly, the greenlighting of a second season appears to have broken a so-called “curse”. Studio Doga Koba, responsible for animating Oshi no Ko, has a notorious reputation for not producing sequels for its anime.

Some of Studio Doga Koba’s renowned anime include Idol, Shikumuri is not just a cutie, and My Senpai is annoying. Any anime created by this studio was widely believed to be unlikely to receive a sequel. Yet, if the rumors about Oshi no Ko’s second season are true, this infamous streak might finally be broken.
However, the reliability of this information is still up for debate, so it is crucial to approach it with a healthy dose of skepticism.
