About Reborn as a Vending Machine

This anime clearly shows that the isekai genre can go far and beyond. Reborn as a Vending Machine, Now I Wonder in the Dungeon follows the story of a young otaku, Hakkon, who falls off his bicycle only to discover he has reincarnated as a vending machine.

Unlike before, Hakkon discovers he can only use vending machine phrases, mainly “Welcome” or “Too bad.” as his form of communication. However, this is not an isekai show if there is no cheat skill.

Despite the unfortunate situation he finds himself in, he will soon realize that being reincarnated as a vending machine is not all bad. It is because Hakkon can dispense any item he had purchased in his previous life and use his sales to increase his points.

Moreover, Hakkon will also meet a young but power-hunter girl, Lammis, whom he will befriend. Lammis will carry Hakkon on her back while they embark on their journey of exciting travels.

Cast

Jun Fukuyuma will be voicing Hakkon. Fukuyama was also behind other notable anime characters, such as Koro-sensei of Assassination Classroom and Lelouch of Code Geass. On one hand, Lammis will be voiced by Kaede Hondo, who is also behind another adorable character Charlotte Soller of Parallel World Pharmacy.

Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon anime is adapted from its light novel series of the same name, written by Hirukuma and illustrated by Itsuwa Kato.

Staffs for Reborn as a Vending Machine

Noriaki Akitaya will be directing its anime adaptation at Gokumi and AXsiZ. Akitaya is also known for directing all three seasons of Bakuman. The scriptwriter for Domestic Girlfriend for both seasons of The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, Tatsuya Takahashi, will oversee the script.

In addition, the series’ character design will be done by Takahiro Sakai. He was also the character designer for the anime Yuki Yuna Is a Hero.

Reborn as a Vending Machine is taking the isekai genre to another level. With a plot for fans to anticipate, many could not contain their excitement. Hopefully, this anime will do as much as the isekai shows have provided the viewers, which is worthwhile entertainment.
