Record of Ragnarok Season 2 Trailer Reveals First Look At Lord Buddha

The 2nd season of Record of Ragnarok was previously confirmed to be released in 2023. Netflix has finally released a trailer for the second season, featuring many new characters including Lord Bhudda and Heracles.

Record of Ragnarok is a battle-action series featuring the strongest humans from the history and gods different mythologies. The series tells the story of 1vs1 death battle between humans and gods. Every 1000 years, the god council gathers to debate whether the humanity should be destroyed or not. After 7 million years of human existence, the gods were finally fed up with humankind, and decided to destroy them. However, a Valkyrie Brunhilde (who wanted to save humans) suggested that humans should be given one last chance to prove themselves worthy. It was decided that a tournament will be held where 13 gods will fight against 13 strongest humans in all of the human history, and the outcome will decide whether humanity should perish or keep on living.

Who is Buddha in Record of Ragnarok? In the series story, Buddha was initially a human who found enlightenment and finally ascended to Godhood. He was one of the few gods in the godly council who opposed the idea of destroying humanity. In season 2 he will be fighting a strong enemy, but there is a twist, he won’t be fighting from the god’s side.

The 2nd season of the Record of Ragnarok will be animated by Graphinica and Yumeta Company. Masao Ookubo will return as a director of the series, while the character design will be handled by Masaki Sato. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Bungo Stray Dogs Wan!, By the Grace of the Gods) is returning for the series composition. The music of the series will be composed by Yasuharu Takanashi (Fairy Tail, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations).

Record of Ragnarok anime is based on the manga of the same name, written by Umemura and drawn by Ajichika. The manga publication began in Comic Zenon magazine in Nov 2017. Graphinica animated the first season of the anime, which was released on Netflix in June 2021. The manga has been licensed by Viz Media in June 2021 for North American fans.
