The official Twitter account of Record of Ragnarok has revealed that the 2nd season will be released sometime in 2023. The new season of Record of Ragnarok will exclusively be available on Netflix. To commemorate the release date announcement, a new key visual has been released.
The teaser visual for the 2nd season depicts new characters that will appear in the anime series. Brynhildr is on the left, and Reifuku, Lord Buddha, Heracles, Jack the Ripper, Lord Shiva, and Raiden Tameemon are on the right. According to the official website, information about the 2nd season and a possible trailer release is expected at Anime Expo which will be held in July 2022.
The series tells the story of fight between human and gods. Every 1000 years, the god’s council gathers to decide whether humanity should live or perish. After 7 million years of human existence, the gods finally decided to eliminate humanity. However, a Valkyrie Brunhilde suggested that humans should be given one last chance to prove themselves worthy. It was decided that a tournament will be held where 13 gods will fight against 13 strongest humans in all of the human history, and the outcome will decide whether humanity lives or dies.
The first season of Record of Ragnarok was released in June 2021 on Netflix. The studio behind the production of the series is Graphinica.
