Kaguya Sama & Oshi No Ko Confirmed To Take Place In Same Universe

Akasaka Aka, the mangaka behind the hit series Kaguya-Sama: Love is War and Oshi No Ko, blew the readers’ of both series minds away this week with an amazingly planned special extra chapter!

This bombshell of an appearance comes to us in Oshi No Ko’s latest chapter that basically confirms the two series take place in the same universe with none other than Kaguya herself popping up! And with a new last name to follow…

You can find everything you need to know regarding this surprise cross-over and more down below!

The Oshi No Ko manga, written by Akasaka Aka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari is currently on a short hiatus, but that didn’t stop the team behind the series from dropping an exciting short 4 page extra this week! As we mentioned already Kaguya from Akasaka Aka’s other series, Kaguya-Sama Love Is War makes an appearance in this chapter all grown up!

This appearance confirms two things that were long speculated about the two series. The first is that they take place in the same universe. And the second is that one of the two series takes place after the other. Seeing as how Kaguya is much older in the panel we see her in, I believe it’s safe to assume that Oshi No Ko comes after Love Is War.

Kaguya And Miyuki’s Future

Although it was definitely a surprise to see the two series cross over, the real bombshell of this whole thing comes at the end of the chapter when we see Kaguya’s name. You see Kaguya has become a photographer just as she wished and has been credited as a photographer for a major magazine company.

Only under her photos, she is credited as, Shirogane Kaguya! Taking the last name of Miyuki Shirogane. This of course can only mean one thing, the couple has gotten married in the distant future when Oshi No Ko takes place in! Whatever the case I’m sure next week’s chapter of Kaguya-Sama: Love is War will have something to follow this reveal up with and I for one can’t wait for it!

Aka Akasaka’s Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is a Japanese rom-com manga series. It first appeared in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Miracle Jump in May 2015, and afterwards moved to Weekly Young Jump in March 2016. Viz Media licenses the manga in English in North America. Kaguya Sama: Love Is War is getting an anime film, while Aka Akasaka’s second manga, Oshi no Ko is also getting an anime adaptation.

Crunchyroll describes the Kaguya Sama: Love Is War anime as follows:

From a good family? Check! A good personality? Check! Shuchiin Academy is where all these elite students with bright futures flock to. Things have gotten troublesome, and they are now caught in a war of “How to get the other to confess their love first.” This is a whole new romantic comedy, following an outbreak of cunning warfare between two elite students in love
