The previous season of “The Rising of the Sheild Hero” focused on the battle with the Spirit Tortoise. Unfortunately, none of the cardinal heroes except Naofumi comply with fighting this beast.
Naofumi is also accompanied by Rishia, a former member of Ishiki’s party. Ishiki abandoned her because she was too weak. So, Naofumi decided to power her up on his adventures.
The Shield Hero’s party later meets Ost, the human incarnation of the Spirit Tortoise. She plays a vital role in taking down this beast, after which she passes away.
Naofumi’s team fights the Waves alongside the Heros from the other dimension.

Season 3 of “The Rising of the Shield Hero” will adapt the next two arcs of the light novel: The Rebuilding Arc and The Fallen Heroes Arc.
In the Rebuilding Arc, Naofumi will be awarded for his efforts against the Spirit Tortoise, as he was the only hero who gallantly fought against this titan.
In the Fallen Heroes Arc, Naofumi ventures into the world, looking for the other heroes. After the Spirit Tortoise incident, the other heroes forgot the purpose they served and went missing.
So, it is up to Naofumi to find and tell them why they were summoned to this world.
