What Happened Previously?
Episode 5 was titled “File: Glint.” The episode starts with the squad returning from a mission in the entertainment district. Monika is pretty tired because of it and becomes very stingy. So, she leaves everyone and lies down in her room.
Then we are shifted to a mission Monika was assigned to before she entered her Teacher’s group. She was assigned to protect a man and his son from assassins. Monika becomes friends with the son and teaches him self-defense.
We see Monika in a desperate state when she is reminded of a training class where she is no match to the instructor. The son idolizes Monika and dreams of becoming strong like her. When they get tired, the son takes Monika to his home.
Monika meets her target there and assures him that she will always be by his side. When he and the son are abducted, Monika tries to help them, but she is left helpless. But she never gives up hope and manages to save both of them.
After that, she thanks the boy for giving her confidence, and they part ways. Even though Monika might not be as strong as his Teacher or that examiner, she is still a good spy.

Back to the present, where Monika comes out of his room. She finds out that everyone messed up in an attempt to defeat their Teacher again.
