The anime series “Spy x Family” is famous among many anime fans, with the character Anya being especially well-liked, and she is also a prominent character who has been cosplayed by many. Although cosplaying is popular among fans, we don’t see many politicians cosplaying; however, a trio of politicians from Taiwan is breaking the norms by cosplaying Spy x Family.
Lai Pin-yu is cosplaying as Yor Forger. She is the youngest Legislator (there are only 113 legislators in Taiwan’s Congress (Legislative Yuan). Tseng Wen-hsueh, a youthful local congressman from Maioli County, is cosplaying as Loid. The interesting thing is that both of the cosplayers are couple in real life too. Finally, Anya is cosplayed by Huang Jie, who is a local congresswoman in Kaohsuing City.
The cosplay was shared by Lai Pin-yu, on her Facebook page which instantly went viral, gathering 14,000 likes and 1300 shares. A Reddit user shared the cosplay with the international anime community by posting on Spy x Family subreddit.
Here’s what fans commented on Reddit: “Best freaking cosplay I’ve seen. Politicians are people too haha“, “lol im from taiwan, can confirm they’re politicians 🙂 this is really cute tho”, and “Why can’t the U.S. have such politicians? Nice cosplays.“
Spy x Family anime will return on October 1 for the 2nd part of season 1, and fans could expect more of these cute Anya cosplays.

Spy x Family anime is based on the manga of the same name, written and drawn by Tatsuya Endo, who began publishing the manga in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump magazine in March 2019. Viz Media is licensing manga in North America. The manga series has been collected into 9 volumes as of March 2022.
Wit Studio and CloverWorks picked up the manga for an anime adaptation of 25 episodes. The first part having a total of 12 episodes premiered on April 2022. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime in North America, while Muse Asia YouTube is streaming the anime for South Asian fans.
