Vinland Saga anime series that is based on the manga of the same name, written and drawn by Makoto Yukimura, and the anime is currently airing its second season.
Like Attack on Titan, Vinland Saga anime had a studio change for their recent anime season. The first season was animated by Wit Studio, while Mappa Studio is in charge of animating season 2.
Mappa’s adaptation of Vinland Saga manga has so far received no complaints from the mangaka and fans alike. In fact, after the release of Vinland Saga season 2 episode 22, Makoto Yukimura praised the anime adaptation for respecting the original source material.
The mangaka also praised the music composer Yutaka Yamada for the perfect music. He wished that manga volumes can emit music like that too.

Makoto Yukimura made a series of Tweets talking about the Vinland Saga episode 22. The rough translation of the Tweets is as follows:
“Thank you for watching Episode 22, “The King of Rebellion,” of Vinland Saga!
Our protagonist gets beaten up. Drott’s punch, recreated in the anime, looked painful. And it reminded me of something we’ve forgotten for a while: Thorfinn is now missing two teeth on the left side. Well, he should be! But um… those that were knocked out were baby teeth.
Yes… we have to remember things like broken teeth, chipped ears, sword wounds, missing fingers. I often forget this! When you see Thorfinn laughing with an open mouth, you might think, “Hey, his tooth has healed,” but the one that broke was a baby tooth, so it’s okay. It’s okay.
Music is wonderful… it can sway the impression of a scene. The music for “I have no enemies”… Thank you Mr. Yutaka Yamada. I wish the manga volumes could emit such sounds too. There seem to be multiple versions, like he actually stopped the waves, or the waves didn’t stop and he said, “This is how great God is and how powerless I am.” I’ve added a new twist to it.
Einar and Canute. Their views on the value of land (property) do not match. For Canute, land is numbers and maps, but for Einar, I think land is touch and smell.
There’s no right or wrong, but I think unless they align their values, they won’t get along.
