Tokyo Revengers Manga Series Could End In 5 Chapters

A leak from the upcoming Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine reveals that the series will officially end in 5 chapters. The previous issue of Kodansha’s magazine revealed that the manga series, written by Ken Wakui, is heading to the climax of the final arc.

The new information comes from Manga Mogura, known for informing fans about the latest news in upcoming manga magazines. Since the publishers ship the magazines to the different stores in Japan 4 to 5 days early so that fans can access the manga all across Japan at the same time. Some store owners peak at the magazine and post spoilers on social media platforms.

Tokyo Revengers season 2 is set to release in January 2023, with the new voice of Draken. A live-action Tokyo Revengers film is also scheduled to release in 2023.

The series follows the story of Takemichi Inagaki, a young man whose life is anything but perfect. One day, he hears that his middle school girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, has died. The Tokyo Manji Gang, a group of criminals, was responsible for the girl’s death. Takemichi dies in an accident and, for some reason, is sent back 12 years. Then, Takemichi decides to use this lucky time jump to join the Tokyo Manji Gang and stop Hinata from dying.

In March 2017, Ken Wakui started bringing out the manga in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. So far, there have been 29 volumes with 260 chapters each. In November, the 30th volume in the series will also come out. In Japan, the anime season 1 of the first twenty-four episodes, made by LIDEN FILMS studios and directed by Koichi Hatsumi with scripts by Yasuyuki Muto, debuted in the Spring season of 2021 (April–June).
