It’s been a rough start to the 2022 year for manga fans. With the back-to-back ending of two very popular series, Fire Force and Dr. Stone. Not only has the year started off with heartbreaking finales but it also has heartbreaking announcements. Since 2022 has begun three series have announced that they will be entering their final arcs. These series of course being, Tokyo Revengers, My Hero Academia, and now most recently, Black Clover. And now as of May 2nd, 2022, Mashle: Magic and Muscles has joined that list.

The news came earlier this week when Volume 11 of the hit comedy series was released in Japan. In an afterword from the creator himself, Hajime Komoto, it was announced that the series has now entered its final arc.

If you have no clue what I’m talking about or have yet to give Mashle: Magic and Muscles a read, allow me to give you an idea. Imagine if Harry Potter and One Piece were mixed together with some added shots of humour and sarcasm, mix that well and you have the genius that is Mashle! Now that you have that you’ve had a little glance at the plot, I strongly encourage you to check out the series yourself! You can read it for free and officially over on Viz Media and Manga Plus.

With this announcement coming so soon after the announcement that Black Clover would also be entering its own final arc (and hiatus). Fans are understandably worried about the future of Shonen Jump. With two of its staple series, Black Clover and My Hero Academia announcing their final arcs consecutively. And only a few months after the ending of the hit series Dr. Stone. It begs the question, what’s next for Shonen Jump?
