Black Clover, one of the most anticipated anime, comes back this year, and Studio Perriot has just released their first-ever stills of the Sword of the Wizard King movie.
Studio Perriot’s temporary stop of the Black Clover TV anime made the series go on hiatus for years to let the manga get further ahead of the anime.
The studio has recently released stills of the Sword of the Wizard King movie, which indicates that it is now ready to be aired.
As shown below, the released still photos include members of the Black Bull, some squad captains, and most likely new villains who have joined the show.
These photos makes it more exciting for fans because it shows that the awaited movie is much more closer now than it seems.

Black Clover Movie Release Date & Delays
Black Clover movie titled “Sword of the Wizard King” will be released on June 16, 2023. The film will be available on Netflix for worldwide fans.
Unlike the anime film industry norm, international fans won’t have to wait for months before the Black Clover film starts screening worldwide.
Sword of the Wizard King movie was initially scheduled to release on March 31. But because of the pandemic, the production was delayed, and the film was postponed to June 16.

Film Details
Black Clover continues to live up to the expectation of fans with its upcoming first film. Unfortunately, the movie will not be following the continuity of the anime series.
The film will feature Conrad Leto, the former Wizard King who rebelled against the kingdom and got sealed away but has been resurrected.
Upon resurrection, he aims to use the “Imperial Sword” to bring back Edward Avalaché, Princia Funnybunny, and Jester Garandaros, the three most feared Wizard Kings in history, to rule the kingdom.

If you’re unfamiliar with the anime series, it tells the story of two aspiring wizards. Asta, born without magic but attains an anti-magic power, and Yuno, chosen by the legendary 4-leaf Grimoire.
They both grew up in a far-flung village but travelled to the capital of Clover Kingdom to become full pledge wizards. The young wizards will then have to fight several powerful enemies to prove who deserves the title of “Wizard King,” the most powerful and respectable wizard in their kingdom.
Black Clover’s final episode before the hiatus ended with Asta’s devil, Liebe, appearing.
Through the supervision of Nacht Faust, the two had their devil-binding ritual wherein they had to fight each other to determine whether Asta could subjugate Liebe.
Moreover, the anime adaptation of Black Clover has been a nominee for Best Fight Scene (Yami vs Licht) and Best Continuing Series in the 2019 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.
