It looks like Netflix is not taking any chances with Cowboy Bepop live action. Not only the “Tank!” theme song was the same as the anime, but the sequence of the clips was also similar. I am not complaining because that “Tank” theme song made intro somewhat quite enjoyable.
Netflix revealed the live action intro during the fan event named “Tudum”.
Given the previous disatours of live action adaptation, I am still not 100 percent convinced that this will be a good adaptation. But at least the start (Intro) is quite positive. You can see the intro down below:
For comparison, you can see the anime opening here. This could turn out to be a double-edged sword for Netflix, as the fans’ expectations are now higher than ever for this live action series.
Previously, the showrunner Andre Nemec had announced that the live action series won’t faithfully adapt the anime. New material will be added. He further added that it would be boring for the audience if we repeat the anime story again.
