Fans Want To Revive Cowboy Bepop Live Action, Petition Reaches 100k Signatures

After the premiere of Cowboy Bepop live action series, it received mixed reviews (well, mostly negative from the anime community), and Netflix cancelled the show because of that. Keep in mind that this was the Netflix’s fastest cancellation of any of their shows. However, it seems like some fans want to bring the series for a second season.

A petition with a title “Save the live action Cowboy Bepop” was created last year on change.org website by Ryan Proffer, which has now been signed by more than 100,000 people who want to see live action series’ return. “For those people who want a second (or more) of the live action cowboy bebop. It wasn’t a direct copy of the anime, but the world they put together was amazing and deserve a second season.” Is written as the description of the said petition.

So, does this mean that Neflix will bring back Cowboy Bepop live action based on this petition? Probably not, but this petition reaching 100k signature goes to show you that there are fans who would like to see the live action series continue.

Netflix is also working on One Piece live action series, for which the cast has been finalized. One Piece fans can rest assured that they will get a better live action than Cowboy Bepop because the creator of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda is involved in the production process.

  1. The first season was good even though it had some narrative issues. Just because of the mixed reviews from the diehard anime fans, the show shouldn’t just cancel. Atleast try to do better by considering the fans review.
