The fans of Hiro Mashima have good news; the author will start a new dark fantasy manga while simultaneously working on Edens Zero and Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest.
Hiro Mashima is the renowned creator of Fairy Tail, Edens Zero, and the famous spin-off of Fairy Tail, 100 Years Quest. Fairy Tail is one of the most successful long-running shonen manga ever, which was also adapted into an anime by A-1 Pictures.
Information On The New Manga
The newest work that will be penned by Hiro Mashima will be different from his previous works, as the series is going to shift from Hiro Mashima’s known shonen themes to dark fantasy.
The manga is tentatively titled “Dead Rock” and will be published on July 6, 2023. It will be serialized in Monthly Shonen Magazine August’s issue and published by Kodansha.
“Dead Rock” will follow a boy who faces severe challenges to become the demon king of his world; the series will focus on character development and fantasy elements.
About Edens Zero and Fairy Tail
Edens Zero is a sci-fi shounen manga that follows a boy named Shiki who travels around space with his robotic friends to find the legendary mother goddess. The manga has been serialized since 2018 by Kodansha in Weekly Shounen Magazine. It was recently announced that Edens Zero had entered its story’s final stage.
An anime adaptation of Edens Zero was released in 2021, and the second season of the anime premiered in 2023, which had crossover references to his previous works.

Fairy Tail is Mashima’s most famous work, serialized from August 2006 to July 2017 in Weekly Shounen Magazine and published by Kodansha. The story follows a boy named Natsu Dragneel and the adventures of his guild named “Fairy Tail.” Every cast member has a unique and special ability that differentiates them from each other.
Fairy Tail was also adapted into an anime by A-1 Pictures that ran from October 2009 till September 2019. The manga also has a sequel titled “Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest” consisting of the original cast.
