Since the huge success of the Demon Slayer Mugen Train film, there has been a trend of more and more anime franchises getting into the same model of releasing canon movies. After Demon Slayer Mugen Train, numerous anime franchises, including JuJutsu Kaisen, Black Clover, and The Quintessential Quintuplets, have adopted the same model of releasing canon movies.
Anime producers seem to profit greatly from this model, but this is not a good experience for anime fans. Haikyuu is one of the recent franchises that have fallen victims to the “film model.” Haikyuu has enough source material (110 manga chapters left to be animated) to make 2 more seasons easily, so the decision to adapt the remaining manga series into 2 films doesn’t make sense other than that producers are looking to cash out on the series’ popularity.
After the announcement of Haikyuu anime films on the official website, most fans were overjoyed to hear that the series will be getting season 5 and two anime films. A few hours later, many sources clarified that Haikyuu season 5 will not be happening, and the rest of the manga will be adapted into 2 movies. Many Haikyuu fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment with this decision of the Haikyuu anime production committee.

This Perfectly Sums It Up
Many Scenes Will Be Left Out
Of course, 110 chapters are being crammed into two films, and many wholesome scenes will not be animated.
Read Manga
Well, the final option for Haikyuu fans is just finally picking up the manga series.
Most probably, the films won’t get a simulcast release date, meaning Haikyuu fans outside of Japan won’t be able to see the film in theatres till 6 to 7 months after the Japanese release. Spoilers for Haikyuu films will be everywhere once the movie is out in Japan, and no matter how much someone tries to avoid the spoilers, it won’t be an easy task.
The production committee of Haikyuu anime should try to release the film worldwide simultaneously, or at least fans outside of Japan shouldn’t have to wait half a year to see the film in cinemas.
Please keep in mind that there is still a slight chance that season 5 might happen as nowhere in the official announcement of the films is it written that the 2-part film will be adapting the whole manga. We will have to wait till more information about the films gets released.
I have been waiting so long for the fifth series and now know that I’ll still be waiting ages and the outcome will be disappointing
I am totally bummed looking forward to it
