Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Hunter x Hunter made a Twitter account a few days ago, hinting that he is currently working on new manga chapters for the beloved series. This news came as a shock to many fans as before that there was no indication of Hunter x Hunter return from the official source, including the Japanese magazine, Shonen Jump, where the manga usually gets published.
Nevertheless, many sources confirmed the authenticity of the mangaka’s Twitter profile, and that is when the account quickly started gaining followers. At the time of writing, Yoshihiro Togashi has gained 2.1 million followers on Twitter, becoming the most followed manga artist on the popular social media website.
The 2nd most followed mangaka on Twitter is Kohei Horikoshi, who is the creator of one of the most popular anime and manga franchise, My Hero Academia. Kohei joined Twitter in June 2014, and he has gathered 2.1 million followers. Fairy Tail and Edens Zero series creator, Hiro Mashima is the 3rd most followed mangaka on Twitter. They joined the Twitter platform in May 2012, and they are followed by 1.7 million people.
Yom is the 4th most followed manga artist on Twitter. They are most known for Douki to Tawawa and Ganbare, Douki-chan. Tokyo Ghoul creator, Sui Ishida is the 5th most followed artist on Twitter. They have accumulated 1.3 million followers since joining the Twitter in 2010.
It should be pointed out that the mangaka of Naruto, Dragon Ball, Bleach and One Piece series does not have any social media accounts. It would be interesting to see if they made a Twitter account now, how many followers they will gain.
