Kaiju No.8 wins first place in the Next Coming Awards 2021. It is a relatively new manga series with great potential to become one of the best series in upcoming years. Kaiju no.8 series is written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto. It has been serialized in Shonen Jump Plus app since July 2020.

Synopsis
In Japan, monsters known as Kaiju no.8 attack cities and town regularly. Childhood friends Kafka Hibino and Mina Ashiro’s town gets destroyed by a Kaiju. They both vow to fight against Kaiju by joining the Defence Force, who are tasked with fighting Kaiju. Mina has become famous as commander of the Defense Force’s Third Unit, but Kafka has failed the examination numerous times and is a member of the clean up crew, Monster Sweeper Inc., whose job it is to dispose of the monsters’ dead bodies after battle. After a small talking monster flies into his body via his mouth, Kafka gains the ability to turn into a monster himself, which gets dubbed “Kaiju No. 8” by the Defense Force. Kafka remains fully cognizant while in the form, but gains superhuman strength, and becomes the first monster to escape the Defense Force.

Kaiju no.8 is available for free on Shueisha Manga Plus app and website. When I say free, I mean completely free. Currently Kaiju no.8 has 42 chapters released, you could probably read them in 1 or 2 days. As this is one of the best upcoming manga, it is recommended that you read it before someone spoils it for you.
Kaiju no.8 anime possibility?
It is still too early to tell whether Kaiju no.8 will get an anime adaptation. Kaiju no.8 only has 42 chapters released so far, which is not enough material to make an anime. Good news is that the manga is selling really well as recently it surpassed 4 million copies sold with only 4 volumes. Almost all the popular new generation manga get an anime adaptation after 100 chapters. For example, Jujutsu Kaisen got an anime after 100 chapters as well as Blue Lock got anime adaptation after 100 chapters.
