The manga series written by Akihito Tsukushi, Made In Abyss season 2 will be released in 2022.
The season 2 of the series is titled “Made In Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun”. The official Twitter account of Made In Abyss also revealed a new trailer:
Studio Kinema Citrus will be in charge of animating the series. Sentai Filmworks has acquired the streaming license for season excluding (Asia, France, Germany, and Italy). The new cast includes:
- Fapta will be voiced by Misaki Kuno
- Vueco will be voiced by Yuka Terasaki
- Wazukan will be voiced by Hiroaki Hirata
- Belaf will be voiced by Mitsuki Saiga
Akihito Tsukushi started Made In Abyss manga in Web Commic Gamma in 2021. Since then, it has been collected into 9 volumes. Kinema Citrus studio adapted the first anime season, which aired in July 2017. The series also received an anime film, which released in Japan on January 17, 2020.
Despite the cute visuals of Made In Abyss, the story becomes darker really soon. In fact, the author of Hajime no Ippo also thought that the series will be a fun adventure, until he watched it.
The enormous cave system, known as the Abyss, is the only unexplored place in the world. Nobody knows how deep down goes this titanic pit, inhabited by strange and wondrous creatures and full of mysterious ancient relics which purpose in unknown to modern man. Generations of bold adventurers have been drawn by the cryptic depths of the Abyss. In course of time those bold enough to explore the dangerous pit came to be known as “Cave Raiders.”
